As I scrolled this morning through the endless reams of demoralization posts on Twitter from people who would be high-functioning contributors in a healthy society, lamenting our collective powerlessness against institutional capture, my thoughts turned to how dynamism comes from outside so often. The decadence at the heart of empire is conquered by foreign vitality, perhaps driven by desire or escape of their own internal drama, but what is evident is the outsider is needed when the core has reached such rot. After all, did not the Holy Roman Empire with Goths and Vandals at the core extend the Roman name another 1,200 years surpassing even the Byzantine bureaucracy by a quarter millennium? But rather than focusing upon the historical precedents which are better left for self-study, let’s think instead how barbarians would practically deal with the American situation.
The First Rule of a Barbarian is that you have no loyalty to the new state save only as it benefits you and your tribe. Accept things that benefit you, reject those which do not, take what is given, and plunder what is not. We live in a world view where we tacitly accept law as just, even though it is patently obvious that it inherently favors some over others both in application and execution, but what if we did not? How might a barbarian run a political movement and cultural revitalization in this era.
You would have three objectives: One, to destroy your enemies who could oppose you. Two, to gather resources and plunder to realize ambitions. Three, to build parallel institutions to ensure your views prevailed.
Were we to realize the American government, like most around the world, is just a shell that has been captured for the use of the financiers and the propagandists they employ both for mass consumption and indoctrination, we’d understand our enemy as the sense of normalcy that funny green occult notes create, and we might even try to break their magic or steal their sorting hat. Too long have we been attempted by the allure of ideology and compromise, where we should have said instead, as barbarians would, we will take what is yours and make it ours before you can do the same. The leftists stole the money. The conservatives do nothing but work for them to sanctify that theft, pretending they earn something fake as individuals, hoping such alchemy will save them in hubris, but a barbarian would plunder the treasury and buy off whom they needed.
What would that look like: Imagine the wealth of the Fed being shut down in terms of their ability to make fiat money, and their assets seized and distributed amongst a new tribe: All the gold and other resources they’ve collateralized would offer pretty plunder. Yes, the world would get poorer, but a barbarian has no need of their wealth, yet shows no shyness in taking the assets of another who exists in opposition to their vitality, who claims to say how we must live. Offer a bribe or a better deal to whom you must, watch how people defect against such vitality, and then the new song of the day might switch from Latin to Germanic.
Render their money, their magic, irrelevant, and watch how the institutions that seem so terrifying have their own ranks defect unto oblivion. Watch how the propagandists go silent, and the world comes to attention to what the new leadership wants. We cannot live our way under their rules, and we cannot escape their rules when they can impoverish us in so many ways.
Only then can you erase, co-opt, or amend institutions to serve you. Politicians won’t do it because they, by nature, care too much about what others think. A barbarian cares for what is true, because nature makes us have no choice but to exist on the living edge, because we know all too well who wishes we were dead, who want to replace our truth, who want to remove our folk, who say we must conform. We, of agency, should have power, and yet we cower behind the stolen guns of the same people who parade in debauchery in perversion in fountains. Why?
The Constitution never went out of effect - so obviously law is not the answer to this. That people accept this low-hanging fruit for an answer is the ultimate psy-op, the idea that power does not have to be asserted through force of will, can somehow magically be abrogated through words. Life is lived through actions, and words follow only to justify the reality of the creative class, the vital class, and those willing to wager on their own truth. To a barbarian, this is habit and daily living, but to we who reside in these dying embers of civilization, we simply lack the energy, and the secret police and promises of discomfort are enough to destroy us.
In time, the elites hope to end history by using technology to neuter us permanently, through comfort in the short term, and integration into a collective hive in the long term. Would a barbarian consent to such violations or bribery? I don’t think so - and even when they did take the money, it would only be as the first tribute which presumes no block on future action. That would be to live, but for now, we only just wait.
I’ve lost my country; my nation was bled out, bred out, and read out. But, there is freedom in this, and I think there are other barbarians looking for their tribe. Are you one?
The gospel though.
